Sources Policy

What we cite, why, and what we won't link to.

What we cite

When an article makes a specific factual claim — a statistic, a legal or visa requirement, a named cultural or religious practice — we link to a source for it: government and tourism-board pages, embassy or consular guidance, academic or industry research, and established wedding-industry reports.

What we don't cite

We don't link to sites whose only content is AI-generated with no original reporting or authority on the topic, or to sources we can't verify are current. If we can't find a source we trust for a claim, we either drop the claim or frame it clearly as general guidance rather than fact.

Things change

Visa rules, legal recognition of marriage, and travel requirements change without much notice. Where an article touches any of these, treat it as a starting point and confirm current details with the relevant official source before you rely on it.
